WHERE IS THE QPOA WHEN YOU NEED US?
The answer to that question remains the same as always, "WE'RE RIGHT HERE!" in the face of adversity and weathering the perils that often arise when displays of courage and conviction are prominant against those who oppose the freedom of association principles this great Industrial Association was foundered upon.
We continue to fight against the oppressive and dangerous nature of working conditions which confront Prison Officers here in Queensland and across our Nation
We continue to be the only Industrial Association for Queensland Prison Officers that is run by Prison Officers.
We continue to be the only Industrial Association representing Queensland Prison Officers workin in both public and private sector.
We continue to exist despite the efforts of underperforming Unions and Government Agencies.
We continue to serve those who serve, with honor, tradition and the full vigor deserved by those among us.
We will not go quietly into the night, we will continue to walk tall, speak strongly and oppose all things unfair to our members, their families and our respective commmunites.
We are empowed by the false accusations the weak and ignorant lay upon our number.
We are emerging from our darkest days, they are yet to have theirs, prepare yourself.
Most of all though, we're always here for you

BASHINGS BEHIND BARS
July 12, 2008
Prison guards have allegedly been targeted in violent assaults at the Maryborough Correctional Centre in the past few weeks. The shocking reports have surfaced following convicted murderer Scott Maygar being charged on Monday with attempted murder.
One prison guard was punched in the face and beaten so badly by a number of prisoners last Friday night that he was rushed to hospital with serious facial injuries, a Corrective Services spokesperson has confirmed.
While the prisoner was being escorted away from the injured guard, a different staff member was assaulted and received minor injuries.
The spokesperson said another major assault last Saturday about 4.30pm had also resulted in a prisoner being rushed to hospital with fractures to his ankle and a wound requiring stitches.
